북극의 진화

툭, 떨어진다, 얼음이다.
지구는 돌고, 얼음덩어리는 각을 세운 채
조금씩, 때론 한 움큼씩
때론 한 마을과 한 세대가 제 몸을 허문다.
곶과 곶, 섬과 섬, 만과 만, 길과 길이 허물어진다.
지도는 늘 변했다.
그속엔 울음이 있고 해체가 있다.
인간의 눈물이 북쪽을 흔든다.
언젠가 인간의 시계는 멈추겠지만
얼음의 시간은 멈추지 않겠지.
질질흐르고 흘러
땅을 감싸고, 머금고, 토한다.
최초의 물은 멈추지 않고 질퍽대면서
어느새 허벅지까지 올라온다.
솔직히 나는 진화했다.
물이건, 얼음이건 간에
먹고 버리고 회피하면서 몸뚱이를 지켜왔다.
상점에 들어오면 어디선가 물소리가 들린다.
그리고 푸르스름한 기억을 소환해
이 도시를 담금질한다.
한 달 새 교차로엔 거대한 빌딩이 들어섰다.
대형 마트와 옷가게가 들어서고 그 위에 사람들이 산다.
지도는 또 바뀔 것이다.
대륙의 한 점이, 또 한 점이 되고,
다시 한 점이 덧입혀져 거대한 점이 될 때까지.
저 멀리 철새는 날아오르고
꽃잎은 몽우리를 틔울 것이다.
내 숨은 어느 산맥을 따라 이동할까.
밤이 되면 지도의 소리는 막힌다.
거칠게 울고 우는 소리만 가득하다.
인간의 소리만 가득하다.
모든 것이 까마득하다.

Evolution of the North pole

The ice drops, suddenly,
The earth revolves, the ice cube builds the angles
little by little, sometimes by the lump
Now and then a village, a generation demolishes its body.
Cape and cape, island and island, gulf and gulf, street and street collapse.
The map has always changed.
There are crying and dismantling in there.
Human tears shake the North.
Human clock will stop someday
but never the time of ice.
Flowing and dragging
it wraps, nurses and vomits the earth.
The earliest sloppy water never stops
suddenly filling up to the thigh.
Honestly, I evolved.
Whether water or ice,
I preserved my body eating, deserting and evading.
Water sounds somewhere in the shop.
And anneals this city
summoning the blueish memories.
In a month a gigantic building appeared at the crossroad.
People live upon the large marts and new boutiques.
The map will change again.
A continental dot will become another dot,
to be a gigantic blot.
Far away the birds migrate flying over
and petals will bud out.
Which mountain range will my breadths move along.
At night the sound of the map is blocked.
Filled with rough weeping and weeping.
Filled with human voices.
All things are so far and far away.
